The Cult of Celebrity

What do we see in it? What's it's allure?

To be seen. To procure

Proof that we exist from someone

Who can't be dismissed;

Who has seen who we really are or might

Become; to thrust
The threat of annihilation from us.
We all fade,

But some of us are transparent;
Apparitions,
Who can't believe in our own existence.

Verification

Is needed. Proof that flesh, blood,

And bone are not
Illusion. This is the root of the cult.
The twist is this:

A vampire casts no reflection.

The undead, are just the dead

Made clueless
By circumstance. This is the secret
We ask celebrity

To mask; the blood cult to which

We all subscribe,
For without the cult we would all be dead
Or finally alive.
